Canagan Piccolo Light/Senior Dry Dog Food – 1.5kg
Canagan Piccolo Light/Senior – 1.5kg
This is the 1.5kg bag of Canagan Piccolo Light/Senior, a reduced-calorie dry food for small dogs, carried here under Canagan product code 1006077. Canagan's current published range does not include a Piccolo recipe: their small-dog kibble is now sold as Canagan Petite in 750g and 1.5kg bags, and their reduced-calorie small-breed food as Canagan Small Breed Light/Senior in 2kg and 6kg.
Because Canagan no longer publish the composition, the analysis or the feeding chart for this recipe, none of it is repeated below. We would rather leave the numbers out than carry figures we cannot trace back to the manufacturer — including the claim of 70% chicken and salmon that appeared in our own earlier copy, which has been removed.
<>Suitable For
- Small breed dogs from around seven years old, on a maintenance ration.
- Small dogs carrying weight that needs coming off gradually.
- A household with one small dog, where 1.5kg is used up in three or four weeks.
- Owners already feeding this recipe who want to keep their dog on it.
- Not the right choice if you need the published analysis before you buy — Canagan Small Breed Light/Senior Dry Dog Food 2kg is documented in full by Canagan and does the same job.
Feeding
- Canagan publish no online feeding chart for this recipe. Use the chart printed on the bag, which is the manufacturer's own.
- Weigh the ration rather than scooping it. On a 5kg dog a 20g error is roughly a tenth of the day's food.
- If you are feeding for weight loss, feed to the target weight rather than the current one, and weigh the dog fortnightly.
- Change over from another food across about a week, and keep fresh drinking water available.
Composition & Analysis
- Canagan publish no composition, analytical constituents, additive list or feeding chart for a Piccolo Light/Senior recipe, so none is stated here. The declaration printed on the bag is the authoritative one.
- 1.5kg bag. Canagan product code 1006077, barcode 5029040024567.
- Our earlier copy quoted 70% chicken and salmon and named glucosamine, MSM and chondroitin. Nothing published by Canagan supports those figures for this recipe, so they have been taken off the page.
- For a small-breed reduced-calorie food Canagan do publish in full, see Canagan Small Breed Light/Senior Dry Dog Food 2kg — 54% free-range chicken, 34% protein, 14% fat and 1,440 mg/kg each of glucosamine and MSM.
