Carnilove Meat Jerky Turkey & Rabbit – 100g

Turkey at 64% and rabbit at 26%, with 1% blueberries worked in — the only one of the three Carnilove jerky bars to carry fruit. Rabbit is the interesting part: it is a lean white meat that comparatively few dogs have met before, which makes this a useful bar for a dog whose usual proteins have been exhausted.

It sits between the other two on richness at 31.0% protein and 25.8% fat. One figure stands out — Carnilove declare crude ash at 19.2%, against 7.0% for their beef bar and 6.7% for the lamb and salmon. That is their published figure and it is reproduced here as they state it, but it is worth knowing about if your dog is on a mineral-restricted diet.

Performance & Benefits
  • 64% turkey and 26% rabbit, 90% meat in total.
  • 1% blueberries, the only fruit in the Carnilove jerky bars.
  • Rabbit is a genuinely less common protein for dogs that have run out of options.
  • 31.0% crude protein with 25.8% crude fat.
  • Free of chicken meat, grain, potato, soy, colourants and GMO ingredients.
  • Gently dried to 18% moisture, so the fillet stays chewy.
<>
Suitable For
  • Adult dogs of all sizes, as a training or occasional reward.
  • Dogs needing an uncommon protein for a rotation or trial diet.
  • Dogs that dislike red meat and fish treats.
  • Owners who want a treat with no chicken in it.
  • Not suitable for a dog on a restricted-mineral or renal diet given the 19.2% declared ash — the Carnilove Meat Jerky Beef Fillet 100g declares 7.0%.
<>
Feeding
  • Complementary feed. Offer as a daily reward alongside a balanced diet.
  • Dogs 1–10kg: 1–2 pieces daily.
  • Dogs 10–25kg: 2–4 pieces daily.
  • Dogs 25–50kg: 4–6 pieces daily.
  • Dogs over 50kg: 6 or more pieces daily.
  • Do not overfeed; take the treats off the daily ration and keep water available.

Composition & Analysis
  • Composition: turkey 64%, rabbit 26%, glycerine of vegetable origin, lignocellulose, blueberries 1%, sodium chloride.
  • Analytical constituents: crude protein 31.0%, crude fat 25.8%, moisture 18.0%, crude ash 19.2%, crude fibre 7.5%.
  • The 19.2% ash figure is Carnilove's own and is markedly higher than the 6.7–7.0% they declare for the rest of the jerky range.
  • 100g resealable pack.
  • Carnilove publish no metabolisable energy figure for this bar.

Care & Caution
  • A chewy fillet bar can be swallowed whole by a fast eater. Break it up for small dogs and supervise while it is chewed.
  • The declared crude ash of 19.2% is high for a treat. Keep it off the list for dogs managed on restricted phosphorus or minerals without asking your vet first.
  • At 25.8% fat, portion it carefully for dogs prone to pancreatitis.
