Equus Health Nettle – 500g
Nettle is the classic spring herb of the feed room, and Equus Health describe it as a blood cleanser and conditioner that helps regulate body fluids. They list vitamin C, iron, sodium, chlorophyll, protein and dietary fibre among what the dried leaf carries, and say it can improve bloom and dappling on the coat.
This is the smaller of the two packs. At the published 25g a day, 500g runs for about twenty days, which makes it the sensible size for trying nettle on a horse for the first time or for a short spring course rather than year-round feeding.
<>Performance & Benefits
- 100% dried nettles, single ingredient, nothing else added.
- Described by Equus Health as a blood cleanser and conditioner that helps regulate body fluids.
- Named constituents include vitamin C, iron, sodium, chlorophyll, protein and dietary fibre.
- Fed for bloom and dappling on the coat.
- Dried, so the sting is gone and it can go straight into the bucket.
Suitable For
- Horses and ponies having a short spring or autumn course of herbs.
- Anyone trying nettle for the first time and not wanting to commit to a larger bag.
- Horses whose coat has gone flat and dull over winter.
- Owners who prefer to feed named single herbs rather than a proprietary blend.
- Not the right size for long-term daily feeding — at 25g a day the Equus Health Nettle 1kg is better value and lasts about 40 days.
Feeding
- Horses and ponies: approximately 25g daily.
- Equus Health give the same rate as two 50ml scoops per day.
- One published rate covers horses and ponies; there is no separate figure by height or bodyweight.
- Mix into a damp feed so the light dried leaf is carried through.
- 500g at 25g a day is about 20 days for one horse.
Composition & Analysis
- Composition: 100% nettles. 500g pack.
- Equus Health name vitamin C, iron, sodium, chlorophyll, protein and dietary fibre but publish no quantity for any of them, so no figures appear here.
- No typical analysis is published for this herb — no protein, oil, fibre, sugar or ash percentages are declared, and none are invented here.
