NAF Five Star Oestress Liquid – 5L

Oestress Liquid is NAF's Five Star support for mares whose season affects their behaviour and their work. It is a tincture rather than a powder, which puts the plant extracts into solution and makes them quick to take up — chastetree, black cohosh, milk thistle, rosehip, turmeric and ginger, in measured quantities per litre.

Bio-available magnesium chloride sits alongside the herbs to help relax muscle tension. NAF's own framing is regularity rather than suppression: the aim is a predictable cycle, not an absent one. The 5L is the refill size, which earns its keep if you are feeding two mares or running through a whole season.

Feeding

• Loading rate for 3–7 days: 75–100ml daily.
• Maintenance: 25–50ml daily.
• Move back towards the peak rate in line with her cycle if behaviour changes.
• NAF put a 1L bottle at about 40 days at 25ml, so 5L covers roughly 200 days at maintenance.
• Measure into the feed daily.

Composition & Analysis

• Composition: magnesium chloride, glycerine, calcium carbonate, monoglycerides of fatty acids (oleic acid).
• Herbal tinctures per litre: chastetree 288ml, black snowball 240ml, black cohosh 105ml.
• Also per litre: milk thistle 33.40ml, rosehip 29.70ml, turmeric 18.50ml, ginger 14.80ml.
• 5L refill. Also made in 1L and 2L.

Care & Caution

• NAF do not recommend Oestress Liquid for pregnant mares.
• On broodmares, discontinue two months before covering.
• Chastetree and black cohosh are pharmacologically active herbs — tell your vet the mare is on them before any treatment.
• Check current rules with your national authority if racing or competing internationally.
