Well Gel Lip Saver – 100g Pot

Lip Saver is Well Gel's aloe vera gel made up for one specific job: cracked and sore lips at the corners of a horse's mouth. It is a small problem that makes a horse genuinely uncomfortable, interferes with work, and is slow to settle because the skin there moves every time the horse eats.

Roman chamomile, daucus carota and achillea millefolium sit in the aloe vera base — three oils rather than the five in Well Gel Original, which suits an area this sensitive. The 100g pot is small enough to live in a tack box, it is handmade in the UK, and Well Gel state that none of the ingredients appear on the FEI banned substance list.

Performance & Benefits
  • Aloe vera gel formulated for cracked and sore lips.
  • Supports the skin's own healing and keeps the area soft.
  • Roman chamomile, daucus carota and achillea millefolium.
  • Mild three-oil blend for a sensitive area.
  • 100g pot, small enough for a tack box.
  • Handmade in the UK, with no ingredient on the FEI banned substance list.
<>
Suitable For
  • Horses with dry, cracked or split lips at the corners of the mouth.
  • Horses worked in a bit through cold or wet weather.
  • Daily application as part of a grooming routine.
  • Competition yards, given Well Gel's FEI position.
  • For general grazes and scrapes elsewhere on the horse, Well Gel Original or Simply Well Gel cover more ground per pot.
<>
How to Use
  • Apply to the affected area of the lips once or twice daily.
  • Patch test on a small area before the first full application.
  • Use within 6 months of opening.
  • Use clean fingers or a clean applicator, and keep the pot lidded.
<>
Specification
  • Ingredients: aloe vera gel, Roman chamomile, daucus carota, achillea millefolium (yarrow).
  • 100g pot.
  • Handmade in the UK.
  • Well Gel publish no percentage breakdown of the blend, so none is stated here.
<>
Care & Caution
  • Well Gel note that horses may find this palatable. Apply thinly and do not leave the open pot where a horse can reach it.
  • For animal use only, and keep away from children.
  • A grooming product, not a veterinary medicine. Sores that keep returning at the corners of the mouth are worth showing to a vet or an equine dental technician, as bit fit or dental problems are the usual cause.
