Ancol Tough Treat Dispenser – 20cm

A strong rubber cylinder, 20 x 8cm, that holds treats and lets them out a few at a time as a dog rolls, nudges and paws it around the floor. The point is not to feed a dog faster but slower: the food becomes a puzzle to be worked at rather than something swallowed in four seconds flat.

Ancol build it from the same high-quality strong rubber as the rest of the Tough range, so it takes being shoved into skirting boards and picked up in frustration. Twenty centimetres is a sensible size for a medium or large dog to move about with a nose or a paw, and the cylinder shape means it stops in awkward positions rather than rolling neatly to a halt.

Performance & Benefits
  • Dispenses treats gradually during play, so a small handful of food lasts far longer.
  • Cylinder shape rolls, wobbles and stops unpredictably, which keeps a dog working at it.
  • High-quality strong rubber for long-lasting durability.
  • Stimulates natural foraging instinct and gives a dog something to think about, not just chase.
  • Genuinely useful for boredom, wet days and dogs on restricted exercise.
  • Supplied in widely recyclable, plastic-free packaging.
<>
Suitable For
  • Medium and large dogs that need mental work as well as physical exercise.
  • Slowing down a fast eater by feeding part of the daily ration through the toy.
  • Crate rest, rainy days and settling a dog that cannot be walked.
  • Puzzle-toy beginners — the mechanism is obvious enough not to frustrate a dog into giving up.
  • Too large for a toy breed or a small puppy to shift — the Ancol Tough Coffee Grounds Hippo is the small-dog Tough-range toy we stock, though it does not dispense treats.
<>
How to Use
  • Load it with small, dry treats or kibble. Damp or sticky food clogs the opening.
  • Start loosely filled so treats fall out easily, then pack it more tightly once your dog has worked out the game.
  • Use part of the daily food allowance rather than adding treats on top of it.
  • Wash with warm soapy water after use and allow to dry fully before refilling with treats.
<>
Specification
  • 20 x 8cm. Cylinder shape with a treat opening.
  • High-quality strong rubber.
  • Ancol product code 991751, from the Playtime Tough range.
  • Widely recyclable, plastic-free packaging.
  • Ancol describe the material only as high-quality strong rubber and publish no capacity, opening size or fuller material specification, so none is given here.

Care & Caution
  • Not indestructible. Dogs should always be supervised during play.
  • Check the toy regularly for signs of wear and remove it immediately if it is damaged or if parts become detached.
  • Dry the inside through before refilling. Trapped moisture and old food turn a treat toy sour quickly.
  • Count what goes in as food rather than extra. A dispenser loaded generously every day adds up.
